Our Purpose

We exist to extend Christ's healing ministry through comprehensive spiritual care, offering comfort in times of crisis, guidance in moments of decision, and hope in seasons of despair. Our chaplains serve as bridges between faith and daily life, ministering to people of all backgrounds in hospitals, correctional facilities, educational institutions, workplaces, and emergency situations.

History

Our History

ca. 1875 - Global Beginnings

Adventist chaplaincy ministry began at Battle Creek College, laying the foundation for what would become a worldwide ministry of spiritual care and support.

World War II Era - Expansion

The ministry expanded significantly during World War II, providing crucial spiritual support during times of global crisis and establishing patterns of care that continue today.

1985 - Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries

The establishment of Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries (ACM) formalized and standardized chaplaincy training and deployment worldwide.

1990s - Chaplaincy in Kenya

Adventist chaplaincy ministry began in Kenya with university ministry, gradually expanding to include lay chaplaincy programs that would serve diverse communities across the country.

2023 - Eden Springs Chaplaincy

The Eden Springs Chaplaincy Department was established under the visionary leadership of Nelly Mayaka, marking the beginning of a new chapter in local chaplaincy ministry.

First Cohort: Seven dedicated chaplains were trained by Elder Caleb Adera, forming the foundation team that continues to expand our ministry reach today.
